Esther Smith

Esther is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and the owner of Christian Trauma Counseling. She has an MA in Professional Counseling, a certificate in biblical counseling through the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation, and has completed advanced training in trauma-informed therapies. Over the past ten years, she has gained experience working in a variety of outpatient mental health clinics and biblical counseling settings. 

Esther counsels adults and older teens who feel stuck in experiences of trauma and anxiety. She provides specialized care for medical trauma, sexual assault recovery, traumatic loss, childhood abuse, and recent traumatic incidents. She is trained in EMDR therapy, which she uses in combination with narrative-focused counseling and Christian meditation to help people process their stories. In all of her counseling, she seeks to create safe relationships that lead to good conversations that point people towards the rest they can find in Christ. 

Esther is married and lives with her husband and two cane corsos near Baltimore, MD. She enjoys cooking recipes from around the world, spending time outside with her dogs, and reading fiction books of all kinds. She provides trauma counseling for people who live in Maryland, and has limited availability for EMDR intensives.
