Danya Albright
Dany is a Spanish bilingual biblical counselor. She has a BA in Neuroscience, two graduate certificates in Christian Counseling Level 2 from Reformed Theological Seminary and is a Certified Christian Trauma Care Provider Level 2 (CCTCP-2). She uses a variety of techniques for the treatment of trauma and grief, including 12-STR (Strategic Trauma and Abuse Recovery System), components of EMDR, and the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). Over the past fifteen years, she has gained experience working in a bilingual mental health private practice, and as a pastoral counselor and small group leader in the context of the local church.
Dany focuses on providing a calm and safe place through curious and empathetic listening where clients can feel safe sharing their stories of harm and wounded emotions. She considers it an honor and privilege to be permitted into stories of grief and loss. She takes a holistic approach to counseling (bio-psycho-social-spiritual) that is trauma and abuse informed and biblically grounded.
Her areas of focus are spiritual abuse/church hurt, interpersonal abuse, complex childhood trauma, recent trauma, racial trauma, grief and loss, nervous system regulation, mind-body breathwork, autoimmune and chronic illness and pain. Dany also offers support to neurodiverse families with children on the autism spectrum and those with ADHD.
Dany is married to her husband Ben and has four precious sons. She knows firsthand the challenges that come with having neurodiverse children with unique abilities and having chronic health struggles. Dany is an educator at heart and enjoys homeschooling her boys. When she is not teaching or counseling, she enjoys seeking and photographing God’s beauty in creation, playing at the beach, or immersing herself in books.
She is available for virtual biblical counseling appointments.
