MEET OUR MEDITATION GROUP LEADER
Sarah Widercrantz, MA, NCC

I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life. – Jesus (John 8:12). Sarah’s life is a testimony to the truth behind these words. Since her first encounter with Him more than a quarter century ago, Sarah has sought to deepen her walk in the church, community, and her private devotional time and has learned the value of using spiritual disciplines. She is a lifetime learner who continues to incorporate practices as old as meditation and prayer and as new as recent neuroscience finding as she teaches and supports others.

Sarah has an MA in Clinical Mental Health counseling from Walsh University. She uses a holistic, trauma-informed, developmentally aware approach in her mental health practice.

SUBSTITUTE GROUP LEADER
Esther Smith

Esther is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level 2, and the owner of Christian Trauma Counseling. She has an MA in Professional Counseling, a certificate in biblical counseling through the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation. In all of her counseling, she seeks to create safe relationships that lead to good conversations that point people towards the rest they can find in Christ. Esther maintains her own meditation practice and enjoys sharing what she has learned with others.

Our Christian meditation group meets most weeks for 45 minutes. We may not meet the week of Christmas, New Years, or when the time coincides with other major holidays. We may occasionally need to cancel a group meeting due to sickness or vacation. Most months we meet four times. On some occasions, there will only be three meetings in a month due to holidays or other scheduling reasons. Other months, there may be five meetings. The subscription price remains the same for each month regardless of how many times we meet.

Each meeting is 45 minutes long and includes about 30 minutes of meditation practice. Meetings may incorporate spiritual practices, practices for regulating emotions, practices for calming thoughts, and body-based practices to reduce stress in the body. Each week we end with a time of Scripture meditation. While this is not an interactive group between participants, a time of Q&A is offered at the end.

We are typically able to provide a month’s notice for when a group meeting will be cancelled. You can view our schedule at this link.
