Alison Boyle
Alison Boyle is a biblical counselor certified through the Association of Biblical Counselors, and holds a Masters of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University. She takes a holistic approach to counseling, considering the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of challenges brought to the counseling space. She values openness, respect, curiosity, and accountability in the counseling relationship, and seeks progress over perfection.
Her areas of focus are anxiety, depression, life transitions, and marital issues, including pre-marital counseling. She also provides trauma counseling for military and law enforcement, traumatic grief and loss, recent traumatic incidents, and miscarriage and childbirth trauma. She offers a calm, safe place where you can share your story, ask hard questions, and explore possible solutions. She believes in the transformative power of the gospel, and will often utilize prayer and Scripture in a meaningful way within the counseling setting. Her own struggles with faith have taught her that God isn’t afraid of our questions or doubt, but is big enough to love and care for us as we work through them.
Alison grew up in Oklahoma and moved after college to work as a campus minister in the New England area where she met her Coast Guard spouse who is recently retired from the military. They have one daughter who just started college, so they are figuring out the life of empty nesters. They have moved 8 times with the Coast Guard, including 3 tours in Alaska, and currently live in Northern Virginia with their dog Mia, an Australian shepherd border collie mix. She enjoys baking, murder mysteries, playing the piano, and puzzles of all types.
